“Community.” It’s a popular word in our current American culture. We’ve realized our need for it, but seem to be worse at it than we have been in recent history. Cultivating good community and being “communal” doesn’t necessarily mean that we have to all live on one plot of land or be in each other’s physical spaces constantly. What it does require is commitment to being there for one another and creating spaces and time to share in food, drink, and life.
