Introduction
Go foraging in the wild, the grocery store, or your freezer for some berries and make this quick and easy compote to eat with a variety of things.
Ingredients
2 cups of berries (whatever you've foraged or have on hand ... strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, etc.)
1/4 cup Sugar in the Raw
1 Tbsp lemon juice
Preparation
Put the berries in a large pot and heat on medium heat.
Once the berries start to get warm and you can see some liquid coming out of them, drop in your sugar.
Incorporate well so that the sugar can dissolve.
Stir occasionally to prevent burning and sticking to the pot.
Heat for 5-10 more minutes or so. The mixture should start to bubble and thicken.
Add the lemon juice and let it bubble some more until it is at your desired thickness.
Put the compote over ice cream, poundcake, in some yogurt, or however else you wish to use it.
